Welcome to Raag & Rhythm (developed and distributed by Aishwarya Unni). We operate the mobile applications My Tanpura, Tanpura & Tabla, and Tanpura & Talam (collectively referred to as the "Service" or "Apps").
Your privacy is extremely important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect (or do not collect), how we use it, and the steps we take to ensure your personal information remains secure while practicing Indian classical music.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
Our Apps are designed to operate primarily offline and provide instrument and accompaniment sounds for your practice. We believe in absolute data privacy, which means:
- No Personal Contact Information: We do not collect, request, or store any personal identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or contacts.
- No Account Required: You do not need to create an account or sign in to use any features of our Apps.
- No Local Sound Data Uploads: All your custom sound settings and configurations are stored locally on your own device. This data never leaves your device.
2. Data Disclosures & Integrations (App Store Compliance)
To help us maintain, optimize, and fund our free services, we integrate standard developer kits (SDKs) from Apple and Google. These collect limited, non-identifiable technical data as defined below:
- Identifiers (Device ID): We use third-party tools (Google AdMob) that collect non-personal advertising device identifiers (Apple's Identifier for Advertisers - IDFA on iOS) to serve and measure non-intrusive advertisements. You can manage this at any time in your iOS settings under "Tracking".
- Purchases: If you upgrade your App to the "Ad-Free" version, the payment transaction is processed entirely and securely by Apple's App Store. The App stores a locally verified purchase transaction record on your device to unlock premium themes. We also track anonymous aggregated purchase metrics for analytics.
- Usage Data (Product Interaction & Ads): We collect completely anonymous product interaction data (such as app launches, screen transitions, and selected scales or themes) and general ad interaction logs (such as ad impressions and clicks) using Google Firebase to understand which features users love and improve the app.
- Diagnostics (Crash & Performance Data): We collect technical diagnostic logs, launch times, and crash reports via Google Firebase Crashlytics. This helps us ensure that the audio engine remains perfectly stable and high-performance across all device models.

4. Children's Privacy
Our Apps are purely musical instrument utilities meant for students and practitioners of Indian classical music. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13, and our Apps are safe for users of all ages.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
